Falafel Pita with Chunky Salad

The combination of the warm and crispy falafel with the fresh and crunchy salad creates a perfect balance of textures and flavours.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 box Al’FezTM Lebanese Style Falafel Mix
  • ¾ cup cold water
  • 6 pita breads
  • ½ iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ cucumber, diced
  • ½ red chili, slivered
  • Fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Tahini Dressing

  • 2 tbsp Al’FezTM Natural Tahini
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Al’FezTM Lebanese Style Falafel Mix

  1. In a bowl, add water and falafel mix. Combine well and set aside stand for 10 min.
  2. Shape the mixture using a spoon into 12 balls.
  3. Bake at 350 °F for 20 min or Airfry at 375 °F for 15 min (turning once), or Fry in hot oil for 3 min (turning every 20 seconds until golden brown).

Tahini Dressing

  1. In a small bowl, add all ingredients. Stir to combine.

Assembly

  1. Place pitas on preheated grill for 1 min on each side.
  2. Fill hot pitas with some falafel, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and chili. Drizzle with Tahini Dressing.
  3. Garnish with mint leaves and some fresh lemon juice. Serve with potato wedges and Al’FezTM Lebanese Spiced Tabouleh.
