The combination of the smooth and flavourful hummus with the crispy and salty pita chips creates a perfect snack or appetizer.

INGREDIENTS

Hummus

  • 2 14 oz. cans chickpeas (reserve 7 tbsp of liquid and a few beans for garnish)
  • 4 tsp Al’FezTM Natural Tahini
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 ½ tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • Extra virgin olive oil, to taste
  • Paprika (for garnish)
  • Fresh coriander (for garnish)

Pita chips

  • 3 pita breads
  • 5 tbsp olive oil

INSTRUCTIONS

Hummus

  1. Rinse the chickpeas in cold water and add to bowl of food processor.
  2. Add Al’FezTM Natural Tahini, garlic, salt, lemon juice, and 7 tbsp of the reserved liquid from the cans.
  3. Turn on the food processor and slowly pour in the oil. Process until smooth. Transfer into a serving dish.
  4. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and decorate with a few whole chickpeas.
  5. Sprinkle with paprika and fresh coriander.

Pita Chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350˚F.
  2. Split each pita in half (separate into two thin pieces of bread), then cut into strips or wedges.
  3. Drizzle oil on the strips.
  4. Cook for 10 min until crisp, then let cool.
